How the Clearinghouse works

We have just reorganized the site, so we’d like to give you a tour of the many supplies and offers listed here.

If you are relocating because of Katrina or Rita, or if you are helping coordinate housing for people displaced by the hurricanes, and you are in need of supplies, please click on the tabs at the top of the page under the title to see everything available — there is a lot! If you find what you need, click on the “contact me!” and their email address will pop up. You are invited to contact them directly.

If you are here because you wish to donate goods and supplies, please click on the tab at the top of the page titled “donate and view goods” and scroll to the bottom of the page to leave a detailed description of what you’d like to share. If you are here because you are interested in sponsoring a Katrina family, please click on the tab titled Sponsor a Family at the top of this page, scroll to the end of offers, and leave a detailed note in the comments section.

If you would like to share your story, having gone through one of the hurricanes or having been closely involved with a family who lost their home, we sincerely hope you will do so by clicking on the tab titled “Share Stories”at the top of this page.

The question and comments section at the top of the page is a place to reach out to the many Clearinghouse visitors.  If you’d like to ask us a question, you can send us an email to cooper.and.emily@mac.com.

Thank you for joining the Been There Clearinghouse!
